Bay Area North Beach San Francisco

Pizza persona in the heart of SF’s Little Italy

Tony Gemignani is a 12 time world pizza champion and the first American to claim the coveted prize back in 2007 in Naples, Italy. Since his rise two decades ago, Gemignani has earned many accolades under his name- four Guinness World Records, appearances on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and author of three books. The “Michael Jordan of pizza throwing” has since left the competitive circuit to focus on his food and his three thriving restaurants in the North Beach area. Gemignani talks cultivating his pizza persona in North Beach, showcases his dough throwing skills, and describes what pizza means to him.
